Gear: #19 FIrestraws

It was time for me to make some more fire starters for camping. I love the petroleum jelly and cotton balls but they were always a bit messy when I carried them in a prescription bottle. Enter the firestraw. Not only are these things waterproof and self-contained, they are super cheap to make. The milkshake straws are the way to go on these things. Wide bore gives plenty of space for a small chunk of fatwood or other material to help the flame burn. These things can be a lifesaver with less than ideal tinder and wood. It only takes an hour to make a whole tin that will last all year.
